OGP Fall/Winter series race #1 turned out to be a great
weekend for Cody and Arrow Kart with a great race and practice Sunday with the
Morose (Racesport.net) Rotax Jr kids, William.
During practice Saturday
before the race Cody was on his practice motor setting average times, during
lunch we put his race motor on hoping for good results in the final. We had a
good turn out of Rotax Jr's thanks to Racesport.net, Butch bring three Rotax
Jr's from Moroso up to race at OGP. Nick Neri showed up which is always great
Nick (Team Tony Kart) is very fast and sets a high mark for all the kids to
reach for.
Qualifying: Cody qualifying at 0:29:308 and Nick Neri
at 0:29:309 it looked to be a very good race shaping
up.
Prefinal: Cody had a great start with John Gula in second and
Nick hot on Johnny's back bumper. It took Nick one lap to get by Johnny and
take off after Cody but by than Cody had a pretty big lead and went on to win
the prefinal.
Final: Cody again got out to a very good start with
Nick on his bumper for the first lap before Cody started pulling away. Cody hit
his marks and ran a perfect race taking the win.
All in all it was a
pretty good race and a great win for Cody. Cody set the fastest lap of the day
at 0:29:023.
Sunday practice: The three Rotax JR's stayed over night and
we all got together to practice with William Perez hitting the track with the
kids to do some on track coaching. Thank you Butch at Racesport.net and William
for a great day of practice Sun. Cody learned a lot and had a great time.
