Ocala Gran Prix Local Series Rotax Jr Champion

Two races one day to wrap up the Ocala Gran Prix kart track local series for 2007 made for a very long but enjoyable day. The morning race was a make up race for an earlier race in the season which was rained out the night race was the last race of the 2007 Ocala Gran Prix local's series.

First off a huge thank you to Butch at Race Sport Karting/Arrow kart for all they do to help Cody and Legree Racing for providing an awesome Rotax JR motor for Cody.

The morning race on Saturday was the make up race for the Ocala Gran Prix local's race which was rained out in which Cody had qualified second in the tag class. The Pre Final was going well with Cody taking first place within a couple laps and holding it until he was side lined when the fuel pump died. One of the few DNF's we have had to deal with this season lucky.

We replaced the fuel pump and Cody stated in the back of the pack for the final which is fine as he could use the practice passing folks. He finished in second just behind Butch from Race Sport who was on an Arrow Kart powered by a Leopard, not bad for Cody being powered by a Rotax Jr.

The night race was more a time for us to do some set up testing for the up coming Winter Tour race at Ocala Gran Prix in March. Cody won and in doing so became the Ocala Gran Prix Rotax Jr 2007 locals series champion.

The best part of the entire day was William Perez back in a kart and Cody getting a chance to chase him around the track during practice sessions. William is one of the best kart driving instructors and set up guys in the business and Cody is very lucky to be able to spend time with William. Thank you William for all the support and friendship you have shown Cody. (pictures of William in his kart are above)

Next race will be the last Jon Smith race at Moroso Kart track in late Oct.
